Brentford stunned Tottenham Hotspur in a match with big ramifications in the race for Europe, with Bryan Mbeumo scoring a brace as The Bees came from behind to win 3-1.
Spurs, having switched to a back four, initially looked back to their free-flowing best and Harry Kane opened the scoring in the eighth minute, crashing home from 30 yards after Dejan Kulusevski rolled a free kick into his path and away from the wall.
Emerson Royal had a header cleared off the line as the hosts searched for a second goal, while Son Heung-min also came close but was denied by a super Ben Mee block.

Tottenham were made to pay for their wastefulness shortly after the break when Mbeumo was given time to manoeuvre between two defenders and pick his spot. It was Brentford's first shot on target and fizzed past Fraser Forster.
Mbeumo rolled another shot past Forster and into the far corner to complete the turnaround 12 minutes later, having been set free by a lovely Aaron Hickey pass.
Yoane Wissa put the cherry on top of a famous Brentford win on 88 minutes, teed up by Mbeumo after Oliver Skipp was robbed of possession deep inside the Tottenham half.
The win lifts Brentford to 56 points and while they stay ninth, hopes of European qualification remain alive. Spurs stay seventh, with 57 points, but other teams have games in hand so they no longer control their own destiny.

TALKING POINT - Was this Kane's last match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium?

If this was Kane's final home match as a Tottenham player, perhaps it was a fitting way to go out. He scored a brilliant goal with the Spurs attack looking as dangerous as it has for some time, but somehow finished on the losing side. It is reminiscent of Kane's club-record goals tally not translating into a trophy, something which clearly rankles with the England captain and will be central in his plans for the future.

Kane has just one season remaining on his contract and there are few signs a renewal is imminent. That leaves Tottenham with a big decision to make - risk their star man leaving for free next summer, or cash in while they still have a chance. On this evidence, Tottenham are not close to competing for major honours next season.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford)

Reduced to a watching brief for much of the first half, during which he worked hard off the ball, Mbeumo burst into life after the break. The Cameroon international took both goals well before unselfishly putting the third on a plate for Wissa.
With Ivan Toney banned until January, Brentford will be relying on their other forwards to step up and Mbeumo demonstrated that he can shoulder more responsibility.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

KANE SCORES A STUNNER8' - Spurs lead thanks to a wonderful Kane strike! They have a free kick, central but at least 30 yards out. Kulusevski runs over the ball and flicks it back for Kane to hit and hit it he does - the ball arrows into the top corner.
HENRY CLEARS OFF THE LINE 23' - Kulusevski holds off several Brentford players before linking up with Son. Kulusevski finds Son with a backheel and Son crosses for Royal to meet with a booming header - but Henry is on the scene to clear off the line.
MEE STOPS SON 45+1' - Twinkle-toed Son moves the ball onto his right foot following a nice one-two, but a close-range effort is blocked by Mee.
BRENTFORD LEVEL OUT OF NOWHERE 50' - Brentford score with their first shot on target! Sub Damsgaard makes an immediate impact as his slick pass finds Wissa who in turn moves the ball on to Mbeumo. Davies and Lenglet are too slow to close Mbeumo down, meaning he can manoeuvre between the two and fire a low shot into the net.
MBUEMO GIVES BRENTFORD THE LEAD 62' - Hickey plays a ball in behind for Mbeumo, who is too quick for Davies, runs in from the right and rolls the ball into the far corner to put Brentford ahead.
WISSA SECURES THE WIN 88' - Skipp is robbed of possession deep in his own half and Mbeumo squares for Wissa, who slots over Forster to put the cherry on top of a brilliant Brentford win.
RIDICULOUS RAYA 90+2' - Raya makes two excellent saves in quick succession to deny Tottenham.
