"It was one of the most difficult tournaments of my career. Not playing last year, coming back this year... Only my team and my staff know what we've been through in recent weeks. This is perhaps the biggest win of my career."

'THE GREATEST TO EVER HOLD A TENNIS RACQUET, FOR SURE'
Tsitsipas picks up his runner-up plate and then takes the mic:
"I don't know what to say. It speaks for itself what you have achieved so far. It's all in the numbers, congratulations. It's been an unbelievable journey for you, I admire what you have done for our sport. You make me a better player when I'm on court."

DJOKOVIC IN TEARS
The Serb celebrates with his team but then sits in his chair sobbing uncontrollably into a towel. He is SO emotional.
Remember, 12 months ago he was sensationally thrown out of the country as a result of his vaccination status.
Now, he's an Australian Open champion once again and no man has won more majors than him either.

GAME, SET AND MATCH! – DJOKOVIC 6-3 7-6 7-6 TSITSIPAS
History is made! Novak Djokovic clinches the tie-break by a 7-5 scoreline and with it wins a record-equalling 22nd Grand Slam title to move level with Rafael Nadal at the summit of the list of men with the most majors.
The straight sets success also seals a record-extending 10th Australian Open crown as he becomes only the second man to win 10 or more titles at the same Grand Slam (after Nadal with 14 at Roland Garros).
The icing on the cake for the 35-year-old Serb means he will start Monday back as World No.1 for the 374th week (also a record).
For Tsitsipas it was ultimately a disappointing occasion with his forehand failing to fire as he would have liked in what was his second appearance in a Grand Slam final.
He once again finishes as runner-up to Djokovic, but will start next week at No.3 in the rankings.
